Written by admin on October 29, 2009 – 2:47 pm -A website is a web page or a collection of interrelated web pages that convey some common theme or sell a particular business. These web pages are made with the help of scripting tools and languages. The web pages are often made very designer, colorful, and catchy in order to popularize business better. Good web design is a very important feature of a good website.
Adequate and useful product/ service/ theme information together with a suitable web design is a definite asset for your website any day. Such a web design significantly improves your chances of making it big via internet, around the globe in the least amount of time.
Anyone who is creative and has the knowledge of scripting languages can easily take up web design as a career. The various tools and scripting languages used in web designing are HTML, XML, DHTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), JavaScript, and various other web languages. The website is viewed by using suitable GUIs (graphical user interfaces).
Web design lets you enrich your website with images (GIFs, JPEGs, and PNGs), display animations, videos, sounds and other vector graphics, but you are required to have additional plug-ins such as quick time, flash player, java run time environments pre-installed. With tags you can embed some plug-ins into the websites design by using HTML or XMHTL. There are two types of website design pages, namely, static and dynamic. The content and layout of static pages cannot be changed without the help of a programmer or a web master.
Web design in Australia and other parts of the world is ragingly a growing market. There is immense revenue potential as the half the world is still to go online. Small and large businesses are increasingly taking up to online face to access global markets.

How to Make a Website
Written by admin on October 28, 2009 – 11:12 pm -In todays day and age, where computer users are increasing by large numbers monthly, the website has developed as a means of self expression or as a launch point for business pursuits.
There are countless ways of learning how to make a website using such tools as the
WYSIWYG(What You See Is What You Get)HTML Editor. This is basically a point and click to create program. If you want a website fast, try it.
Good places for these are myspace.com or your internet service provider. They can provide you with a free website where you can really be creative with there (what you see is what you get editor)
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and was the standard language when the graphical user interface(GUI)was implemented
into the windows operating system.
There are other languages that can be used to make a website, such as Flash, xml, dhtml and a few others. In my opinion, the most flexible language and most easy to learn is html.
A great online source to learn html is html goodies(http://www.htmlgoodies.com).The online tutorials found here are second to none and range from basic to advanced. This is where I learned basic html and I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the language.
Lets talk about the basic layout of your first page of your website.
Is this a personal website? Will it be a website showcasing products that you intend to sell?
If this is a personal website,You can start by having all your links on the left side of the page, your text content can be in the middle with images if you like.On the right side of the page can be more links and images. You will need to divide the page into 3 sections to accomplish this.It can be done with table commands or with the divison command. Please go to the html goodies(http://www.htmlgoodies.com)site for futher explanations of these and future terms in this article for the best clarification possible.
Now,lets say you want to make a website for your small business that your starting. For example, your going to be selling computer games.
You will want people to know about your website and this entails submitting your website to the major search engines and directories, such as google, yahoo.msn, altavista and others.
Here is a great list of directories, both paid and free.
It is most advantageous for new online business’s to register a domain name. This is important for two reasons. First, with a .com domain, your business will look professional.Secondly, from a search engine prospective,a domain name with a .com suffix is more prudent.
You need to pick a domain name that is the most relevant to your business. For example, your selling computer games and accessories.
How about http://www.best-computer-games.com ? You can do a search for available domain names at http://www.namesearch.com
Relevancy is a big factor in how the search engines will rank your site,so keep this in mind when choosing a domain name.
You want your small business website to be informative,to the point, and to keep your viewers interested at all times they are on your website..Nothing turns off a website visitor more than the link to a page they click on(yours)to be slow loading into there web browser.
There are ways to speed up the loading process of a webpage into the web browser. If you have alot of images on your website, you should always denote the height and width of the image in the link.
An Example: after the second quotation mark in the word alt.The opening tag is < This goes right by the letter i in the word image. If I do that in this article,I will receive an error becuase there is no such file, its just an example to show you.
Doing this will make your web pages load very quickly into the site visitors web browser.Have a question about the alt”"? Ok,I will explain this to you.Lets say your image is of a computer game.
If you would type inside of the quotes of the alt command:
alt=”This is the best computer game” Now,when the page loads and someone puts there mouse over the image, what you typed in the alt command will be displayed as text. You can type whatever you want in the alt command, but if your looking for search engine relevancy,I would type in one of your keywords thats relative to the product that displays as the image.
As mentioned before, for further clarification of images,go to the html goodies site(http://www.htmlgoodies.com)for there image tutorial.
To keep the viewer staying on your website, you need to make sure all your links are operational and not dead links.Meaning, there is a page not found error(404) that displays when someone would click on one of your links from your main page.
Meta tags and Keywords are important so your site can receive the highest possible ranking and relevancy. To learn more about meta tags and keywords,go to html goodies(http://www.htmlgoodies.com)This is another topic all together that I wont go into in detail in this article.
I would just like to say that The WYSIWYG(What you see is what you get)html editors are good for the quick fix website,I dont get the gratification of building a website using that method. I code all my webpages by hand in windows notepad. This will take longer but I do receive more satisfaction designing my webpages this way.
There is a site that I recommend you visit. There are $0.99 video tutorials about website design tips and tricks. There are over 8 hours in video tutorials in all, plus other great memberships and programs.
Thank you all for reading and if you have any questions or seek advice,do not hesitate to comment on this article and I will respond to you providing you leave your email address.

Turn Your Online Jewelry Store Into a Business Success
Written by admin on October 28, 2009 – 1:22 am -As an active jewelry designer who attends meetings and workshops all the time, I hear a lot of jewelry business owners complaining that their online stores are not a success at all. I used my web design experience and a lot of research in the domain to gather a few hands-on tips for you to use and turn your online jewelry store into a business success.
Photos that sell the product – The most important thing you have to remember when you have an online jewelry store is that your customer will not be able to feel your jewelry or try it on to see what it looks like. Therefore, clear photos that show as much detail as possible are very important because, afterall, the photo sells the product. Multiple photos for each item are very helpful to show your potential customer all the details. If you have a necklace, try to have at least one photo on a stand, so they can see what it will look like around their neck. If your necklace has a pendant, take an up-close photo of that alone, so you can show all the details of the stones used. When taking photos of jewelry it is crucial that you do that in daytime, without flash. This approach will show the true colors of the stones used without unnecessary reflections.
Search-friendly sites – If you have the possibility to add a search function on your site, please do so. People don’t always know the names of the stones they are looking for and a search functionality will give them the possibility to look for pieces that have a certain color for instance. The idea here is to create the easiest way for your clients to find what they want. When somebody looks for a pearl bracelet, it will be much easier to type that in the search box and hit “Go”, than look through your entire bracelets category to find what they want. Having a search function on your website will be very helpful to your customers but it will certainly add a little more work for you. When you add a product to your store you will have to always remember to tag it with terms that other people might be searching for.
Detailed information – Product descriptions are very important as well when it comes to online jewelry stores. After your client sees the photos, they will want to know what was used to make that piece of jewelry. Try to give as many details as possible about the materials and techniques used as well as sizes. The overall size of the necklace is important, but also include the size of the pendant if you have one, as photos don’t always show the true ratio of the pendant. If you are a custom jewelry designer, I found that people are always interested to find out what your inspiration was. Share that with your visitors and raise their interest in your products.
One size doesn’t always fit all – Since you are selling items that people wear, remember that “One size fits all” doesn’t always apply. Create your jewelry at standard sizes, but always offer people the opportunity to order a smaller or larger item. This way you will increase your clientele.
The price is right – Last but not least, price your jewelry pieces right. As there is a significantly large number of online jewelry stores, you have to be competitive, but at the same time respectful of your work and the materials you use. The art of pricing is probably one of the most difficult, and there is no exact formula or how-to. Using your best judgement and a lot of research in the market area that you are trying to reach, you can find the formula for your prices.

The Antagonists of Web Design
Written by admin on October 27, 2009 – 11:23 am -Is there such a thing like antagonist on website design industry?
Isn’t it that antagonist refers to or commonly known as opponent? You might have thought that antagonist only exist in movies but NO, they are everywhere. So in short, this antagonist refers to opponent of the industry. But what are they? Or … who are they?
Have you thought about it? Have you read on some articles pertaining to this specific type of topic? Not yet? Therefore, read along this article and be informed.
Being human is so complicated that sometimes it affects even the works of technology, no matter how advanced it is, as far as it is touched by human there and always there’s an error that can happen. That’s life. But how is that so? As mentioned in the second paragraph, opponents never get out of the scene in wherever industry you may look at. They always exist, that’s proven because human are born competitive. They always see others as competitor and assume that everything has a big ground arena where they can showcase their stuff and make others fail. But can you identify who are they and what they do that makes them tagged as antagonist?
You know what the fuss all about but let the author show you how. Below are some of the noticeable antagonistic act on web design in the market.
Those who offer lower prices. The amount of low cost services on the market continues to rise due to some web designers who will do everything just to bag some clients not thinking that they might gonna affect the entire market. And what’s disturbing is the fact that the general public are unaware that the majority of low cost websites will never amount to anything, due to their poor table based coding, poor design and the total lack of optimization.
Those who own sites which are enticing enough to deceive. The market is actually flooded with poorly or part trained designers who deceive clients by owning good looking websites. But the fact is they don’t design it themselves. As most of the rationale viewers and visitors of sites, what they look for a web design site is their portfolio and the site itself to check whether it is good or not. So these deceiving sites has all the good stuff but in actual they can’t employ a good design.
Those who doesn’t follow the basic rule of web design site. Those who frequently commit errors such as the use of basic HTML coding (this practice is outdated and most certainly not search engine friendly since Web 2.0 launched); poor layout of sites that results to not functioning on other browser; the use of fonts are bad; the display of privacy policy when a website is collecting data from the public; the display of unique terms and conditions when website is taking money from the public; a sitemap, which is important to search engines; the practice of copying the homepage meta tags throughout the whole site; and the most outrageous error is adding of sitewide link by web designers to increase their own website’s PR.
Those who run away without delivering the service to their clients. Unprofessional is the right adjective for them. Many clients were claiming that their designer run out after they got the payment without completing the whole project. This has of course a bad effect in the entire industry. It doesn’t only affect the designer solely but it also cause for clients to think that other designers would do it. The generality effect does it bad for other web site.
The above antagonistic acts are not good in the industry and can pull it downward in the near future. In the world of website design, its not easy to fish clients online. It is not like a hotcake that easily sells wherever BUT designers can always find and serve one. So for potential clients, be aware of the above samples given. Make sure that your would-be designer is professional enough to deliver the service you want. Remember that you are paying not only few bucks but thousands of bucks for your website, so don’t let them mess it. For web designers, let it serve as a reminder that working in a web design industry requires professionalism. Provide a professional design service at reasonable market value rates and compete on a professional business level. There’s no room for underdogs. Strive for excellence and excel in the industry with fairness.

Various Server Side Technologies for Web Design
Written by admin on October 22, 2009 – 11:59 pm -Web technology is based on the client/ server model. The client computer runs a web browser to see the web page. The software sends the request by the internet to the software program, which acts as the web server, running on the server computer. This responds and the web page is sent back to the browser. The web server software which runs on the server computer has many helpers to perform the tasks, which are the server side technologies for advanced web design. The tasks performed by the client side server, are all client server technology for advanced web design.
If a file has server side script then, the script inside the HTML file is performed by the server before the file is returned to the browser as plain HTML It works in many ways:
1. A web page can be dynamically changed, edited or any content added to it.
2. It can respond to any question or any data that is submitted from the HTML forms.
3. It can access any data or database. This results obtained can be returned to the browser.
4. The webpage can be customized to make it more useful for each user.
5. The server side technology can provide security. This is necessary as the server code cannot be seen by a browser.
Some of the ‘server side scripting’ languages are:
1. ASP/ASP.NET (.asp/.aspx) – ASP or Active Server Pages was developed by Microsoft for making advanced web pages in a web application framework. It helps in building dynamic website, web applications and web services. The most common language is VBScript.
2. PHP(.php) – PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor is easy to learn. There are many readymade scripts available. It also helps in producing dynamic web pages and is a general purpose scripting language. It runs on the web server and has to be configured to process PHP code and create web content. It is free of charge. Most web servers and operating systems and platforms can display it.
3. JAVA via Java server pages (.jsp) – This is a very popular web server side technology. In this, the server tags are mixed with html. This is hard to learn and complicated. It has good programming techniques.
4. ColdFusion Markup Language (cfm.) – This is from Macromedia and this server is not free. However, you can install a free ‘developer edition’. This can be used for developing and testing your applications. It is easy to learn as it consists of xml/html like tags. It is best used for web applications that are not too complicated.
5. Perl (.pl) – It is also widely used. It is a powerful and advanced scripting language. This is mainly available in many cheap web hosting packages.
6. Python (.py) – It is also easy to learn, but is not as widely used as PHP, ASP or even Perl. The disadvantage with this scripting is that it does not have a standard web application framework.
Besides these you also have Lasso(.lasso), Ruby (.rb) and SMX (.smx). There are all these server side scripts to choose from.
The most widely used server side script on Unix/Linux platform is PHP. It is not only easy to learn, but also fast to program. The Java/JSP/Servelets is the preferred choice for all the bigger projects. An expert Windows programmer will use ASP. Each one right from ColdFusion, Perl and Python are good, each having their own unique specialty.
It would be best for a beginner to learn one server scripting language first. With the experience gained, he can then go on to learning the other ones, as it will be easier.

Articles on Small Business Website Content Writing
Written by admin on October 21, 2009 – 1:56 am -If you want your small business website to attract more prospective customers, then you have to make it worth visiting by including resources that have quality web content. Let’s face it, online users do not care much about the profile, vision, and mission of the company. What they are interested in are things that are beneficial to them. This is why articles on small business website content writing are very relevant. Through these articles, the website can easily enter different databases of search engines, and basically make the company more visible.
Articles on small business websites must focus on topics that will compel them to try out the business’ products and / or services. This means that the writings, even if they don’t mention the product name directly and are absent of sweet sales talk, must compel the readers to be curious about the business and try out the product offerings. For instance, if the small business website deals with cosmetics, then it may include articles that provide tutorials on how to apply make up correctly, how to dress up for different occasions, and how to take care of the skin. A part of these articles of course have to smoothly suggest the use of a certain product to solve a certain problem.
In order to maximize the potential of articles on small business website content writing, the site must use key words and key phrases that can be searched easily by search engine users. Search engines judge an article’s relevance based on the appearance of these words and phrases. The webmaster of the site therefore must know the language of their prospective customers, and use words that he or she thinks that their customers will use in searching for information. It is important that the targeted words and phrases must appear at least thrice in a page. For instance, if the website is selling lipsticks, then a relevant article must include terms like deep red lipsticks, gold lipsticks, signature lipsticks, etc. By using these related terms, the search engines can deem that the article indeed significantly discusses the nature of lipsticks.
Such keyword targeting however should jive in with good writing quality. In other words, the terms must be put in article parts wherein they can function and make sense. The readers should not feel as if the words are placed there inappropriately.
In order to increase the traffic of the website, the site owner must keep his or her visitors coming back for more. This means that new articles should be added regularly, and past articles should be updated if further developments occur. Lastly, articles on small business website content writing must be promoted in different online channels like email, chat, forums, blogs, social networking profiles, and the like. It may take a few weeks before search engines crawl into the website and include it in their search results, so extra efforts in web URL promotion is still crucial in making the most out of the usefulness of these business related articles.

A Silk Tie Designers Reviews
Written by admin on October 17, 2009 – 4:44 pm -Typically designers draw heavily from historic archives to give their design concepts substance. This becomes the inspiration for style progression and then captured in contemporary frameworks in all eras.
In an endeavour to create something that challenges generics various concepts are reflected in these collections of designer silk ties following; Art deco, French Textile Designers, and, Paris Fashion designer Jean Patou have been major influences. The classically formed school/sporting tie stripes and college colours are also subtly introduced; even the vivid floral patterns have been arranged in diagonal lines reflecting the school tie concept. It is easy to trace the progress of silk ties through the ages; a timeless method of male adornment.
A history very accurately documented and thanks to the advent of internet is at your fingertips. The entire story lends substance to these finely crafted accessories, and, is told every time the knot is tied four in hand or full Windsor. The concepts, the history, the colours, the thought and great attention to detail, the selection of age old weavers and makers, the technical specifications and inspirational origins conclude all the essential elements of a luxury silk tie.
A Cherry blossom silk tie; inspired by early Japanese Kimono designs. And, the blooming of the Yoshino cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. has come to symbolize the natural beauty of our nation’s capital city. The famous trees, a gift from Japan in 1912, signal Washington’s rite of spring with an explosion of life and colour that surrounds the Tidal Basin in a sea of pale pink and white blossoms. This ornate floral pattern has been widely used in textile, ceramic and furnishings, on gift cards embroidery and now our own adaptation in a finely crafted silk tie.
A blaze of daisies with oak leaves shadowed in the dark burnt umber spaces reflect the dying summer and the birth of spring. In shades of grey just like the English winter sky in winter.
The vine in stripe is just like the wisteria vine gouging out lime mortar between orange brick, eventually causing structural failure and buildings to crumble. Look closely and you can see representation in silk, whit for mortar, orange for brick and shadowed black vine.
It would be sad to let lay the tie alone, so we’ve created worthy, faithful companions to compliment any colours and any mood or fulfilling any fancy.
Taking a slightly different angle a subject or topic can be told many times over. We’ve been writing reviews and unearthing historic anecdotes on fashion clothing and accessories for a number of years. Our knowledge base continues to grow and so does our range of products. Collar stiffeners being one new addition. Surprisingly many men know nothing of their functional value, keeping collars dead straight all day long, it all helps projecting confidence and class.
Now in early stages of development; the side saddle hip bag, which is a more compact replacement to the clumsy man bag. The hip bag is made from ultra fine Napa leather and simply a belt is looped through to sit on your hip. The fine leather allows it to fit your shape, there is no bulk at all, and will accommodate, cell phone, wallet, coins, pen and pad.
The concepts, the history, the colours, the thought and great attention to detail, the selection of age old weavers and makers, the technical specifications and inspirational origins conclude all the essential elements of a luxury silk tie.

Modern design is a state of mind
Written by admin on October 16, 2009 – 9:37 am -Modern design is a state of mind. It is both space and place. The elements that define modern design come together at the confluence of substance and style. Choosing to bring that style to your environment is one that is becoming more prevalent as we look for that something different. The creativity that sparks modern design often is based on being a little different. It is a reflection of one’s ideas, personality, and individualism.
Deciding to bring that style to your home or office can be accomplished through a number of avenues. Maybe you need a help from an interior decorator, check with the www.asid.com website for a listing of capable designers in you area. If you are looking to use your own creativity, there are many companies out there in cyberspace and in real space offering pieces to the modern puzzle you are trying to solve.
Start by having a plan. Write out ideas you have, sketch drawings of what type of furniture you would want and where you would like it to be. This does not mean you need to know the exact pieces yet, but this will give you an idea of what pieces you will need to look for when you are ready to start shopping. Once you know the pieces needed, the real challenge begins. If you need inspiration, start by visiting a modern home store or look ton the web. This will give you ideas that you can incorporate into your own original thoughts that you might not have ever conceived.
There are many factors of modern furniture design. Typically modern furniture is cutting edge, sleek, and it flows. You just know it when you see it. Modern design is both art and function. Just make sure there is an emphasis on the function. A well thought out environment can help bring a zen like feeling and approach to your life.

Web Design
Written by admin on October 9, 2009 – 8:48 am -Web design is a process of conceptualization, planning, modeling, and execution of electronic media content delivery via Internet in the form of technologies (such as markup languages) suitable for interpretation and display by a web browser or other web-based graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
The intent of web design is to create a web site (a collection of electronic files residing on one or more web servers) that presents content (including interactive features or interfaces) to the end user in the form of web pages once requested. Such elements as text, forms, and bit-mapped images (GIFs, JPEGs, PNGs) can be placed on the page using HTML, XHTML, or XML tags. Displaying more complex media (vector graphics, animations, videos, sounds) usually requires plug-ins such as Flash, QuickTime, Java run-time environment, etc. Plug-ins are also embedded into web pages by using HTML or XHTML tags.
Improvements in the various browsers’ compliance with W3C standards prompted a widespread acceptance of XHTML and XML in conjunction with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to position and manipulate web page elements. The latest standards and proposals aim at leading to the various browsers’ ability to deliver a wide variety of media and accessibility options to the client possibly without employing plug-ins.
Typically web pages are classified as static or dynamic.
* Static pages don’t change content and layout with every request unless a human (web master or programmer) manually updates the page.
* Dynamic pages adapt their content and/or appearance depending on the end-user’s input or interaction or changes in the computing environment (user, time, database modifications, etc.) Content can be changed on the client side (end-user’s computer) by using client-side scripting languages (JavaScript, JScript, Actionscript, media players and PDF reader plug-ins, etc.) to alter DOM elements (DHTML). Dynamic content is often compiled on the server utilizing server-side scripting languages (PHP, ASP, Perl, Coldfusion, JSP, Python, etc.). Both approaches are usually used in complex applications.
With growing specialization within communication design and information technology fields, there is a strong tendency to draw a clear line between web design specifically for web pages and web development for the overall logistics of all web-based services.
